Take this fun wine quiz! There’s some hard wine questions and some simple ones, too. Don’t worry if you get any wrong. You can find all the answers throughout the blog so stick around and we’ll increase your wine knowledge together. Want to read a bit before you get started on your wine quiz?

Learn a bit about how wine is made here. A lot goes in to making wine. Understanding the wine making process will definitely get you to appreciate each glass even more.

Get to know a few main grapes here, here, and here. There are thousands of grapes throughout the world. Get to know the top 8. The main white grapes Chardonnay, Riesling, and Sauvignon Blanc. For red wine we’ve got Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot, Pinot Noir, Syrah, and Grenache. Obviously this is a very French-centric point of view. I would add Assyrtiko, Xinomavro, Sangiovese, Nebbiolo, Malbec, Torrontes, Tempranillo, and Semillon to the list, too.

A brief of history might help you with this wine quiz. Do you know where wine originated? I’ll give you a hint, it’s not the best known wine region.

You’ll definitely want to read about wine and food pairing. Wine and food go together like a horse and carriage, like peanut butter and jelly, like Netflix and days off! No need to be intimidated. I really break it down for you.

  1. I missed one, but I caught my error immediately after I chose Argentina and realized that Malbac is a wine produced prolifically in Argentina, but the grape originated in France.
    I went to change my answer, but could not.
    So, actually I would have had 100%, if I had not clicked Argentina so quickly!
    But, I love that I am not perfect.
    IT makes life more interesting.

    i just didnt read all of the answers for the question Which grapes are the same? i just selected grenache and granacha when i first saw it. so

  4. 24 of 25. Dang, looks like I made the same mistakes as a few others, clicked to quickly on Grenache and Garnacha and tried to click next line but then saw that last line of “all of the above” was the only line to click.
