The New York Sour had a lot of nicknames before bartenders settled on this one. If you like whiskey sours, this is a nice variation with the red wine topper.
New York Sour
The New York Sour is such a visually satisfying cocktail. It's also delicious. It takes a bit of skill to get the perfect red wine float on top, but if I can do it, then you can do it.
Equipment
- Cocktail Shaker
- Spoon
- Rocks glass
Ingredients
- 60 ml Bourbon (Sub whiskey)
- 30 ml Lemon juice
- 10 ml Simple Syrup
- 15 ml Red wine
Instructions
- Combine first 3 ingredients in a cocktail shaker with ice.
- Shake well.
- Pour into rocks glass with ice.
- Pour red wine over the back of a spoon slowly so the wine floats at the top.
